Brand new Volvo XC40 B3 brake problem

Bought my wife a brand new (Feb 2025) Volvo XC40 B3.

After just a few minutes of driving, the brakes start squeaking like crazy at low speeds, like when I was in traffic jams, parking, or just pulling up to a light. It's super annoying!

The weird part is, the dealership already did a warranty repair and replaced both the front and rear brake discs and pads. But nope, didn't fix a thing.

Has anyone else here had this problem with their XC40 B3? If so, what was the magic fix? My wife is mad at me bcs of this sht

Yeah a common issue for sure. Even after new pads and discs, the squeaky sound stays. Its usually from brake dust or pad material. You should try asking the dealer to use anti squeal paste or switch to better aftermarket pads, it usually helps

Well, good job on buying your wife a car. Happy wife, happy life right? Too bad that happened. I'm sure you're gonna be able to handle a little bit of irritation from her for now, but maybe double-check with the dealer what else they can do. They're gonna cater to your needs for sure since it's still on a warranty.

Sorry, that sounds frustrating!
But sometimes it's just the characteristics of the pad compound used by Volvo. They can be prone to low-speed squeal, especially when cold or in damp conditions.
I'd do a good, hard braking session from highway speeds a few times.
That can sometimes help bed them in better and reduce the noise, but it's not a guaranteed fix.
It's a tough one because if the dealership has already replaced everything, they might consider it normal operation, even though it's clearly annoying.
Hope you get this one sorted soon!

That really sucks, especially on a brand new car after you just changed the brakes! My buddy had the same issue with his new SUV (not a Volvo). It turned out the anti-rattle clips were a bit off, or they didn't grease the caliper slide pins right when they put it together. It's annoying when you try to fix something and it doesn't work.
